Our Story
Chuon Muth is the founder of Blue Ocean Seafood. He has been in the seafood business for over 30 years. His path all started when he came to America in 1987 as a refugee from Cambodia. He had a goal to pursue the American Dream of becoming a business owner. He started working in the seafood industry at 20 years old. After countless hours of working in seafood processing, he gained immense knowledge and experiences. He knew that with the help of his family he could attain his dream of starting his own business.
The Blue Ocean Seafood team has been in the seafood industry for over 30 years. This all started with our sister company: Family Seafood. Established in 1993 as a sea urchin processing company, Family Seafood allowed us to make countless connections and expand our networking throughout the seafood industry. We used the experiences gained to grow and branch out into lobster processing. The knowledge gained through processing various seafood products over the years has built Blue Ocean Seafood into the lobster facility it is today.
Blue Ocean Seafood was established in 2018. It is a family run business that is the product of decades of hard work and dedication. Founded and built in the great state of Maine, Blue Ocean Seafood has become a supplier of lobster meat and live lobster all over the world. Blue Ocean Seafood prides themselves in top notch quality which is backed by certifications including: SQF, GMP, HACCP, FDA and USDC certifications. Blue Ocean Seafood would not be where it is today without the effort and support of our hard working family, community and customers, who have been working together to keep the business running since day one!
